A state average is a reference point, not a price for your individual driving profile.
THE METHOD
Your state and coverage select a historical annual benchmark. All 50 states and D.C. are included.
The upper amount adds the percentage you choose. It creates a budgeting band, not a statistical quote range.
Annual amounts are divided by 12. Displayed results are rounded to whole dollars for readability.
BEFORE YOU REQUEST A REAL QUOTE
The source data does not price your individual age, driving history, mileage, ZIP code, vehicle, limits or deductible. An individual insurer quote is needed to account for these factors.
Your insurer’s pricing can depend on personal and driving information.
Vehicle details and driving patterns are not priced into this state benchmark.
Limits, deductibles, discounts and exclusions can change the offer.
A state average does not capture every ZIP code or insurer’s price.

Liability uses the published liability average premium. The combined option uses the published sum of average premiums for liability, collision and comprehensive. This is different from the report’s average expenditure across all insured vehicles.
Formula: lower annual amount = published benchmark. Upper annual amount = benchmark × (1 + selected cushion ÷ 100). Monthly amounts = annual amounts ÷ 12. Prominent results round to whole dollars. With no cushion, one benchmark amount is shown.
Limitations: these historical averages do not predict today’s rate, guarantee a price range, or establish the coverage you need. Actual premiums can be lower or higher. California data is preliminary. NAIC does not endorse Milewiser or this calculator.
